Long story short:

Ben and I were walking home, two “youths” bumped into us, picked a fight. They had a cane for a weapon,  we took it. The cane had 4 notches, which we can only assume is from previous, more successful robberies.

We both feel the fedora is what attracted attention which led to the scuffle.
